Handball is a fast, dynamic and exciting game which encourages players to be athletic, flamboyant, inventive, and most importantly, to work together as a team. Handball is one of the most popular sports in the world and has been consistently included in the Olympic Games. Another reason to take note is that it will be one of the sports that will be included in the upcoming Singapore Youth Olympic Games 2010.
Starting on the 27th of February, a handball clinic will be held to impart basic skills, knowledge and rules of handball to the participants. In the afternoon, there will be a 5 v 5 Street Handball Competition where the participants will pit their skills against one another and get a feel of playing the modified game created by Handball Federation (Singapore).
On the 28th of February, professional handball teams will compete in a round-robin league tournament in the premier category. Participants from the previous session will be encouraged to come down on this day to watch real handball action and again learn more about the sport. Fringe activities will also be carried out where participants will be able to get some souvenirs and win attractive prizes.
